Anyone else want the PS2 to have a good send off?

I'm going to be blunt and to the point. The PS2 has been bombarded with pure crap games throughout the past year, it's also been bombarded by pathetic PS3 fanboys who haven't even had a PS2 before (like some of my friends who haven't played resident evil 4 or gt4 etc etc)I wasn't surprised with the recent results of the wolverine game for PS2, poor graphics, poor sound, it was more boring than being in a coffin. PS3 and the 360 get much more attention. Im not asking that PS2 gets more put into it than the current gen as that would be just stupid, im merely asking before the PS2 goes down a developer makes one last final good game on it. I don't want the Playstation 2 to be remembered as a dieing system that didn't know when to stop and should of been put down years before it was.Who else thinks making one last good game is a decent idea?Anyone else want the PS2 to have a good send off?
IMO Persona 4 was a good send off.. AAA title, developed exclusively for the ps2 instead of current gen-consoleAnyone else want the PS2 to have a good send off?
I was thinking more of something released in 2010 which is probably when the PS2 will die
Nah, I think the Ps2 still has life left in it. The day FF13 comes out the Ps2 will be significantly more obsolete.. but until that day..
I personally believe the PS2 is already dead, but that doesnt make it unbuyable or unplayable. Thats why it still sells!Also I believe Persona 4 was sort of a send off for the PS2, but I didnt care for P4 much so for me Rogue Galaxy was more of send off.
As long as there is a need for affordable gaming the PS2 will still be around. When it is just a reasonable jump to get a PS3 than why get rid of a selling platform. There is still a need and there are developers out there who will make for this system and exclusively at that.
In my opinion if a developer is only going to half heartedly develop a game for the PS2 then they should not even develop it at all. It would save us a lot of time and head aches.
i think if rockstar is developing gta san andreas stories secretly then the ps2 port will be the last good game but if not my hopes go to gta vice city stories ps2 port
it already had one with persona 4. maybe persona 4 will get an expansion like persona3 fes.
I think 2005/2006 were the last major years for the PS2. Yeah, it is still a good console, but the new generation has began.
I still consider God of War II as the system's send off. I never played Persona 4 though. I gotta get it one of these days.
The last PS2 games I got were in early 2007. GOW2, DMC3SE, Okami.
The PS2 is still a capable machine if developers wanted to spend time on it and designed games specifically for it. I'm still looking forward to the PS2 ghostbuster game. I know it probably won't be as big or as pretty as the 360/Ps3 version but I actually like the PS2 cartoon style.
I want a really good last game for the PS2 aswell. I understand that game devs are more focused on the new current consoles but the PS2 is still a damn good machine.
I always considered God of War 2 the true grand finale of the PS2. Some games after that have looked decent, but none of them have measured up to GoW2.
It's kind of difficult to ask much more from the PS2. I don't seem to remember the PS1 having much in the way of good games coming out in its dying days of 2003/2004. Only systems with short lifespans seem to get good send-offs such as Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Saturn, Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast and Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Gamecube. The PS1 just got bled dry by bargain bin titles.
I think that the PS2 is and was a fatastic system.But the time has come to make 1 more great game on it and send it into history as one of the best systems made.It has been a great ride but one that needs to end before it gets ruined by too many sub-par games.Being out since 2000 it has been around longer than I would have ever thought.Too bad the PS3 wont be as successful.
The Ps2 isn't dead for one cause if it was they wouldn't be making games for it and it is still my most played system and always will be cause of all the rpgs and the fact you can play the Ps1 games which most Ps3 can't do and the ps3 doesn't have very many Rpgs or exclusive games when you think about it and even when Final Fantasy XIII comes out it will be on the 360 as well and not only did Persona 4 come out in the last year or so but a new Guilty Gear Arcana Heart Eternal Poison Shin Magami Tensei Devil Summoner 2 and there are still good games coming out for it like Silent Hill Shattered Memories a new Mana Khemia so the Ps2 isn't dead there are still good games coming and good games that are out and till the Ps3 picks up the pace I keep playing my Ps2 and I think it will have a good send off
Personally i think the ps2 is already gone, just send something good down with the ship!
I say it already happened with RE4 and Shadow of the Colossus. I own a good gaming P.C. plus a 360 now as the PS3 just doesnt thrill me.
