why are these snes cartridges different?

I was just wondering if anyone knew why these cartridges are different. I own one game like the one on the left (In fact it's turtles 4). where as the rest of my collection is like the one on the right.why are these snes cartridges different?
i dont know ,newer models maybe , , i have alot of both ,they alldo the same lolwhy are these snes cartridges different?
They are so square! Ours are much better games and console :P Not my stuff tho I don't own a SNES. :( But yeah dunno just different region games maybe.

i too have several cartridges like the one on the left but most of mine are like the one on the right.only differences is on some of the older snes systems when you turned on the power a plastic tab would extend. the cartridge on the right would be locked it while the one on the right would still be able to be pulled out.newer snes systems (at least here in the US) did not have that tab lock.

Yeah I have always noticed this as well, but never ever knew the answer for it. I got a decent mix of both, my Mario Kart is like the one on the left. A few as well ... Useless info FTW!
