Fave console/Best Console---Explain!

Just wondering what everyone's favorite console and best console are, and if you can differentiate. Me, i'm a fan of shooters in the classic sense, i.e. shmups and third person shooters. I'm a HUGE fan of fighters. I also like adventure games/beat-em-ups and sports games. Those are my favorite genres. For that reason, the dreamcast is my all time favorite console. It has awesome fighters, shmups(under defeat and border down are G-R-E-A-T), beat-em-ups, and sports games.Not to mention the homebrew community which makes it my classic console player as well.Now, I think best console ever is more objective. For me, I'd have to go with the PS1. It helped make gaming more mainstream with the party games and the like. It has tons of great games(and tons of junk). It has copious amounts of games for every genre, and it penetrated the casual and adult gamer market. Understand, I think the PS2 has more great games, but I don't think it can be considered the best because the PSX has such a greater impact. What are your thoughts?
