Does anyone still play FFXI on ps2?

I have always wanted to try it, but im wondering if its too late.Does anyone still play FFXI on ps2?
I believe FFXI is cross-platform between the 360, PC, and PS2 so it probably won't be too late.Does anyone still play FFXI on ps2?
There are people playing it but it is most likely to late to start, I would get the PC version though, you need a hard drive to play the ps2 version meaning that you can only play it on fat models of the ps2.

You'd do better to play the PC or 360 versions, simply because they're easier to find. However, the servers are linked for all of them, so you all play together.
I have a fat ps2, but since you guys think its not worth playing on ps2 I think I just wont get it, I have GW on PC which is probably pretty much the same thing anyway.THanks for your help!
I know you decided not to, but I just wanted to add, Don't Bother. It was a good game, but you sorta missed the boat on it years ago when it had a popular North American fanbase. I have a Japanese friend that still plays but he says there are almost no english speaking people on our old server anymore. That was the huge problem Square did with the game. Every server was universal and it made it really hard to get groups going. If they would have just released a NA server it would have been much more popular.
I was on that boat. I'm sorry you missed it. FFXI was a fantastic game. Even today I still think about playing it again, I'm sure I won't bother because of the above post. But I knew that already. If there was more NA players I get it again for sure.
Maybe the next final fantasy (after 13) will be an MMORPG and I might try and catch taht one lol.
