Kid Icarus

Was this game a child of its time? I played it for the first time this week and I can't even enjoy it for 5 minutes.

its an awesome game. platforming, shooting, mazes, bosses, collecting the sacred items, different endings. whats to not like?Kid Icarus
It always seemed like it was just another platformer to me, and a very basic one at that. Though tbh I never got that far into it to see if it suddenly picked up later.
I never seen what was so great about it, I too played it resently and I found it annoyingly hard.And I'm from the old school
i don't think it's that good. people often just feel they need an old/obscure game to put on a pedestal.i have no desire for a sequel, really.
Kid Icarus has the Eggplant Wizard. How can you not like a game in which you can be turned into an eggplant??
it was excellent for its time. kids these days have to have the 9,000 bit graphics with super HD bullets and exploding heads to think a game is good. i'd rather play kid icarus than quite a few titles i've played recently.
Well I'm playing Mega Man 2, Punch Out and ActRaiser atm, so graphics aren't a part of my statement
your probably bad at it or probably stuck at the beginning if you learn how to play you will like it its is a good game.
Maybe I am bad at it, but that wouldn't makea good argument, I just don't see the appeal.

I like a challenge, my point was, for me finding a gamedifficult isn't an argument in calling it a bad game.
The other dude thought I didn't like the game cause it's too hard, I say: it is hard, but that's not why I don't like the game, I just don't see the appeal.
I think it's a great game.
Your never going to have the same experience as old schoolers. Some games got celebrated probably more than they should because of what crap games we had to play before it ever came out. its not so much how great or special kid icarus was as opposed to how crappy other games being released at the same time were lol.



I don't know if i beat kid Icarus or not. I remember playing it alot. The vertical movement of the screen, the hard jumps, collecting stuff, ooo and the great music.
I got it off the VC too. I think the hype is exaggerated also. I think the game is okay though. Though, world 1-1 is pretty diificult. The rest of the game is relatively easy though, except the last dungeon, with the werid maze and eggplant wizards.If they remade this; I'd no know how it would be done. There were only two Icarus games, and if they remade it- it's been so long...t would be a different game I'd thing, with a similar theme to Icarus. Imagine the original Metroid going striaght to Metroid Prime! Or at best, Maybe Fusion. That world be a start contrast, no?
Well like Bionic Commando just proved. Not all developers can bring klassic titles into modern times. Although every effort should be made to.
