if it reads cds first clean the laser then if it still wont read the dvds then replace itreplacing PS2 laser
Well if it will read disks or cd or dvds every now again, wether very rarely or once in a blue moon. all you need to do is take the ps2 apart (if it is the older phat model) and open the laser disk compartment and take a q-tip and rubbing alcohol and rub it around right on the laser, I'm sure that would fix it. if it never reads disks, then a laser replace could be very easy or very hard depending on what model you have, I know a particular model I beleive is the 3500 is insanely annoying to get to the laser you have to completely disassemble the unit so you would have to be care and make sure to pay good attention to what you take apart how you took it apart and more importantly what order you took it off in.
