did anyone notice this?

the characters in contra strangely resemble schwarzenegger and stallone. this is probably obvious but i was just wondering.did anyone notice this?
And the alien from Alien.did anyone notice this?
Heheh they do, and the above poster is right too lol
I wish box art still looked like this. Classicly hilarious.
It just goes to show how games change over the years... now they look like this.
It just goes to show how games change over the years... now they look like this.
they....
Isn't there a site dedicated to preserving old box art and stuff? Could have sworn I heard about a consortium of geeks who were making sure that old box art and cabinet art for arcade games got historically documented and they were (at the time) soliciting contributions from anyone who had stuff and could get it scanned and sent in...
That's why the Contra 4 promo poster looked like that... complete with guys who also looked like Vin Diesel and Wesley Snipes. :P

:D That made me like new games more.
i loved the old box art that looked like a movie posters

I did not make the connection until I watched the Rambo movie, which was like a year ago, actually I didnt make the connection until probably a month ago, when I saw the boxart.

Everyone knows that they Resemble Arnold and Sylvester. Those two where iconic in a ''one man army movie''.
The games you mentioned where designed by Japanese game company's, which I doubt that they got there inspiration from the actors(govener :)) you mentioned. But I totally feel you on the comparison, that's how I play my 4th generation library, I watch the movie then pop in the game. It gives a different feel when playing, try it. Just in case you don't get it, watch Rambo First Blood Part 2 and then play Contra or Rambo 3 for Genesis= good times( don't take me 2 seriously).
Hm... I have a feeling that was at least slightly deliberate

Japanese people (and the rest of the world) watch a lot of American-made movies. I've seen a ton of English film references in Japanese media (manga and anime).

And if the Japanese were trying to market the game in North America, it would make sense to have the characters look like American icons.
