Hi guys i am having real problems trying to defeat Seymour Flux on Mount Gagazet (spelling?), anyone know how to defeat him? My current standing is all characters %26 Aeons in overdrive. HP standings : Auron - 4400, Tidus - 3300, kimarhi 2500, Lulu 3500, Wakka 2800, Yuna 2500 %26 Rikku 2600. I do not have Hestega. I can get him down to about 20000 Hp from his total of 70000 however he then uses Total Annhilation and everone dies! Can anyone help at all?Help!!!!! (Final Fantasy X related) - PS2
check the FAQ's as they have pretty good strategies in there. if i remember correctly i just went in and pummelled him with aeons, make sure if you're physically attacking that you have your characters pumped up as best you can with any enhancement spells Help!!!!! (Final Fantasy X related) - PS2
I had this same problem, after many unsuccessful encounters i decided to spend a lot of time battling wild things leveling up characters before beating him.
I had this same problem, after many unsuccessful encounters i decided to spend a lot of time battling wild things leveling up characters before beating him.
Sadly enough, I think this may be the way to go. i remember I lost and then spent about an hour grinding. He still wasn't too easy, but it definatly made the battle not as hard. I think I tryed throwing out an aeon at the last minute to absorb whatever powerful attack he used. I also remember that having shell and barrier on at least one character was what saved me.
.....Thats why people have a tough time??? Bahamut's Overdrive breaks the 9999 damage limit guys.... Drop Seymours hp to around 25-30k and then unleash bahamut = overkill. You should have every aeon in overdrive mode before every boss battle. I think my bahamut at the time did around 35-40k damage to him. If you have Yuna's celestial weapon fully upgraded Valefor also gains BDL. (i didnt bother with celestial weapons though and my Valefor doesnt have BDL =/ ).
^ i thought mt gagazet was before the final aeon....
I've been stuck in that game for months now, Don't think I can reveal where as it might be a spoiler but let's just say I need to defeat something in 10 turns or I loose automaticly and all my people are too weak to accomplish that goal.
And due to the progress I've made I'm not fond of starting all over again.
Im not sure what you mean. Bahamut isnt the final aeon and you get him before Mt Gag. Lets not talk about the final aeon though we dont want to spoil it for him. I just beat X so I should remember where you get bahamut but I suck at remember things like that lol. Valefor-Besaid, Ifrit-Kilika, Ixion-Djose, Shiva-macalania, ...is it bevelle?? Oh well I know I used him in that battle and I dont cheat so he should have him.
Treflis, theres no need to start over. Just get your butt moving around the sphere grid. You can PM me if you want or go ask on the FFX boards for help. I've beat the game and done a few of the extra so you cant spoil it for me.

You have all you're overdrives which is perfect. I'm sorry to say though that Tidus really needs Hasteaga, it makes the battle so much easier. So you'll probably need to go back and level up enough to get it. Also to reduce the damage from attacks like Total Annihilation and Cross Cleave have Yuna cast Protect and Shell on all characters. Also Start the battle by having Tidus cast Hasteaga on the partry. While Yuna casts Protect and Shell on everyone. Basically the goal is to get everyone Hasted, Protected, and Shelled. Who does it and how you do it is up to you, but I highly and strongly recommend that you do. Believe me it makes a big difference. Once you're all set up I like to just use normal attacks until about 20,000 HP is gone, then use all the character overdrives. If there is anything left after that bring on an aeon and finish the job. Oh and be careful of that Lance of whatever, full-life combo he likes to use. If your characters are hasted one of them will get a turn inbetween the two actions. This will allow you to heal the Zombie status before Seymour can kill the character with Full-Life. Overall, just remember Haste, Protect, and Shell, for they are you're best friends in this battle.Hope all this helps.
^ this is the way to go.I prefer to fight bosses without Aeons/Summons in these games, BUT, it's simply not possible with this boss unless you want to overlevel (IMO). That Annihilation attack pretty much makes sure of that.
I remember dying so many times when I played this a long time ago.Strategy is just buffing characters up.
LOL i'm stuck on Evrae I beat it once before but I can't remember how I did it. Been fighting that thang for two days now.
Are you guys playing like that because you enjoy beating those boss's with the lowest stats you can (as a challenge) or do you just hate to grind?? It doesnt seem like trying to fight a boss for a couple of days is ''fun''. Wouldnt it be more fun to squish the boss in a couple of hits??
Just make sure everyone has Protect and Shell on before he uses Total Ann. You should survive. At the very least, Auron will. Then just use a mega phoenix or a mega potion/elixir. Then repeat. Casting Poison on him also really helps. Alot of people don't know that every form of Seymour is succeptable to poison.
Over drive all of Yuna's Summons, Overdrive Yuna as well if it still gives you problems....Do the battles as you normally do, but when it looks like your party is about to get wasted, bring in Yuna and bring out her Aeon's and do their Overdrive Attack.... The next turn they will die, but you bring out another of Yuna's Aeon's and repeat, until you've gone thru all of them. If you are lucky.... The boss will run out of HP before Yuna runs out of Aeons. That would be the main reason why you want to attack normally as far as possible.... before using the Aeons. You don't want to use the Aeon's first because, Bosses go into Hyper attack mode when their HP goes critical. By using the Aeon's last, you're main goal is to bypass their critical state, and kill them outright. Now if Yuna is missing.... and your'e having trouble....well, then you'll have to grind.... and/or use rarer items.
I finally beat it lol.
All you have to do is before the battle, get all your aeons up to overdrive. Put Lulu, Yuna, and Tidus in starting. Use Tidus' hastega, cast any -aga spells for Lulu, and then summon all the aeons and use their overdrive. Deal done. If any more trouble, replace Yuna with Auron and have Tidus caste Haste on him and just finish him off with overdrives.
Every one is right get the aeons and characters into overdrive. And if you can't finish him off like that use Self-Destruct with Kimahri that deals 9999 damgage and with that and the aeons you should win
You can poison Seymour Flux...
