Juuouki (Altered Beast) and Golden Axe 'Arcade' versions announced for the VC.

It seems SEGA has opened a new ''Arcade'' branch of the Wii's VC. So far they have announced Juuouki and Golden Axe for a June relase in Japan for 800 Wii PTS (I ingore how much is that in actual money). It is worth mentioning that none of these games *have ever* been released previously in their original System-16 form in any collection or compilation disc released thus far. These releases could also open the way for other Sytem-16 releases in the future, or even maybe System-24 and System-32, in which case it could get interesting.I just wish SEGA would release an Arcade compilation disc like Taito, Namco, Capcom etc. have done already.

Wow this is great, Arcade games will now be making their way, imagine the possibilities!

But yeah, hopefully Dead Adder goes on the list soon.
Thats what I want. I want the games but not the wii.
I've never ever played the arcade version of Altered Beast. Despite being a naff game I still have a lot of fond memories of it since it was bundled with the first Sega Mega Drive back in the day.Not enough to make me get a Wii though. I'll still hold outfor a possible Sega Arcade complication disc for the 360/PS3/PC.

I would have to say it is a much better game,if only because they dumbed down the gameplay that made it awesome in the arcade.I played it recently and compared to the genesis version, its just plain funner(for the record i played in the arcade first then got it on genesis when it came out).Although its still a pretty simple game,i like it.
Altered Beast was way better and harder in the arcade. Lot of awesome Sega arcade games from that era. M.aybe there are A.lternate ways to M.anage to E.njoy these clas.sic games. Hmmm, I wonder how...
That's great to hear.

With Nintendo refusing to release more than one virtual console game a week, the upcoming VC list is growing much faster than games are being released. Hopefully Nintendo of America and Europe do something about this.
I've recently deduced from the crummy presentation and lack of fanservice in the recent Mega Drive Ultimate Drive Collection and Sega's insistance that they'll be bringing back the Werehog for the next Sonic game that Sega simply don't care about their fans anymore. I would be very surprised if I ever saw an arcade collection coming from them.Even Midway have done better than Sega in recent years for porting their arcade titles.

They have released many of their old arcade and Mega Drive/Saturn games already, and actually some of their remakes like Dynamite Deka have been awesome. And that's a whole lot better than what any other company has done with their old games. I just wish they would do more, and maybe change their releasing format to a more general compilation dsic type, and leave the single game/series format for their remake releases.
Don't get me wrong, their Japan released stuff has been great, especially Sega Ages and the NiGHTS remake, but often it feels as if they treat Sega fans in the West as, at best, non-existent. It seems incomprehensible that in the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection, that they couldn't have at least given us the superior arcade version of Golden Axe and leave out Sonic 3 %26 Knuckles and Revenge of Shinobi. This collection of course never made it to Japan. Sega seem to have this weird way of treating the Asian and Western markets as two different planets.
I just wanted to say that Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection does, indeed, have an arcade version of Altered Beast. And how I wish and pray for some sort of release of all those Sega arcades. Sega Ages only got the one relese on Saturn with OutRun, After Burner, and Space Harrier. Then there was the Sega collection on the PS2 with all the remixes.I would love to play Rad Mobile, Galaxy Force, Turbo OutRun, Power Drift, etc...

Yea, i mostly bought the Sonic collection for the arcade games (Alien Syndrome, Space Harrier, and Shinobi, in particular). I wish Sega would release all that other stuff.
