yea its a great game, so wasn't paper mario(both of them), and the first mario and luigi. The second one had levels which took away from the whole idea of an rpg. Something with an open world to be explored.mario rpg how do you like it
sweet
Did, thought it was the best game in the world up until one day I decided to use Peach. From there on out the game became one of the easiest games ever, and stopped satisfying me.Sure, I could play it without Peach, but it's just not the same anymore.
I think it's great.
its really good!
Mario RPG is a fantastic game.I remember renting it when it came out originally. It was hard to put down and better than i thought it would be.
I downloaded it on the Wii last year. I just really couldn't get into it. Paper Mario andMario and Luigi: Superstar Saga really improved upon everything. Mario RPG isn't a bad game, I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

Well like most classics, you had to have played it back in its time to fully appreciate it. It's still great, but RPGs have evolved so much since that time.
Nostalgia is a huge factor in people's enjoyment of classics like SMRPG.
It has a great combat mechanic. Timed button presses that increase the damage of your attack. Just that little bit engages your brain and makes it 10x better than your regular turn based crapfest. Some other games that have used it is Vagrant Story and Assassins Creed and from what I have heard the Shadowheart Covenent series or something??

I did the same thing im 30. Didnt take it back until I had beat it.
One of the best RPGs ever.
In fact the SNES had most of the best RPGs ever (Earthbound, FFIII(VI), FFII(IV), Breath of Fire series, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Lufia series, etc.)
Lol,I am 27 now.Getting closer to 28.

and ya, i absolutly adored timed attacks form smRPG, it really made the combat significantly more fun
i also think legend of dragoon had some form of timed attacks, though im not sure, i have still yet to play it

I've discovered a lot of classic games on the VC that I missed the first time around. I'm a kid, but I've always loved old-school games. I recently picked up Chrono Trigger and was blown away buy it. This one just didn't catch on. Not because it's old, just because...I don't know.

I'm stuck in the area where you have to type out the name of something in the ghost ship.It just doesn't have the story or depth of the Final Fantasies or Secret of Mana's that SquareSoft was known for.
well my problem is im getting a wiijust for mario rpg so i need the actual game where could i find
I wasn't crazy about the little bit I played of it, and everyone everywhere saying it's godly doesn't help my opinion of it either...I was reallly, REALLY expecting to be blown away, and I got a generic JRPG with Mario's face slapped onto it...=/

With that said though, the Genesis did have its own titles, and with a Sega CD, theres plenty there.
