Hiya. I recently tried to run FF8 and MGS on my ps2, and the games worked perfectly. However, my ps1 memory cards wouldn't read or write. Is there anything special you have to do to update them or something? I was under the impression they just were supposed to work.Ps1 memory cards with Ps2
Nope, that should actually work... I recently made a thread like this myself asking about PS1 and PS2 memory cards... I also had this problem. What you will have to try is keep the tray open, go to that screen where it shows game saves and that disk icon and see if the PS1 memory card actually shows... I had to wiggle mine in recently to play Tomb Raider II. If that fails, alls I can say is get a new memory card.Ps1 memory cards with Ps2
Yeah I already tried exactly what you said. I think mine are third party. Could it be that you need Sony made memory cards or something?
My suggention. Keep playing it on the PS1

I think they should work. Just try dusting off the part where it makes contact with the inside of your PlayStation 2. That's what I did when I got my second hand memory card and it made it work.

It is the possibilty that it is third party. I bought a third party memory card once, and it hardly saved any games. 60gb might sound nice, but what's the point if it don't save? ;). Just stick with usual memory cards or play it in the PS1 is all I can say :)
