So I was wondering what non-genertic Nintendo games (Mario, Metriod, Zelda etc.)would make it worth buying a SNES that I couldn't just get on my Sega?Should I Get A SNES?
A lot of multiplats are better on the Genesis than on the Snes, there are plenty of examples of genesis games that just rip the snes in half, it depends on what multiplats your talking about here. I know some snes multiplats were they are superior too. I know of three really good examples.Alien 3King of the Monsters 2and Cool Spot, I think for other games the Genesis does better in the gameplay category, like faster gameplay.Should I Get A SNES?

I was more talking about good exclusives not as much games that are better on SNES.
Go for it, I did not like the price of fifty five dollars, and the games costing more in general, but I have no regrets. Even though my 15 dollar Sega Genesis (ok actually its 48 dollars counting the one I stupidly bought on amazon, and did not use for months). Then I found out it does not even work.... >_> Ok the one I am using though was fifteen dollars. I do play it more, but that might be because all the save batteries DIED, but I just bought the tool to fix the batteries. Hey here is a question... Between Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, which one is more worth fixing? Then again what makes Nintendo is the mario games really, if you have the original Nes, I think you got enough mario, plus you got Contra, Double Dragon, but you are missing out on some 3D games including Donkey Kong, which are all not too pricey.
Just to name a few...
- Final Fantasy 2 %26 3
- Chrono Trigger
- Earthbound
- Mega Man X-X3 %26 7
- Secret of Mana
- F-Zero
- Castlevania IV
- Contra 3
- Act Raiser
- Donkey Kong Country 1-3
- Mario Kart
- Star Fox
- Super Punch Out
- Killer Instinct
- Pilot Wings
- Kirby Superstar
- Super Star Wars
- Super Ghouls %26 Ghosts
- Sunset Riders
He did not ask for a list of games, just if he should. Good list though. Even though I think Super Mario Kart sucks, you can only see 2 feet in front of you.

Thank you.
The only thing about that list is only 7 of the 19 games really catch my eye. Since I'm not a big FF, Mega Man, or Castlevania fan. F-Zero, DK, Star Fox, Mario Kart, and Kirby is generic Nintendo. I have Ghouls %26 Ghosts and Sunset Riders on Genesis. I can get the first Punch-Out and Contra on NES. The rest is good.
1 - Chrono Trigger
2 - Earthbound
3 - Secret of Mana
4 - Act Raiser
5 - Killer Instinct
6 - Pilot Wings
7 - Super Star Wars
I'll think about it. It's looking like I may just buy games off Virual Console.
You buy nintendo console generally for nintendo games, it aint worth it otherwise, then again the Snes has some good games, but not enough to make it worth the 55 dollars. Plus seriousy pilot wings, chrono trigger is too expensive, you could get like 20 snes games. It looks less worth it as we narrow it down.these two cost as mcuh as the system, wait more combined.
3 - Secret of Mana - sure
4 - Act Raiser -sure
5 - Killer Instinct- its basically like any fighter game really, button mashing, but its pretty cool
6 - Pilot Wings - meh
7 - Super Star Wars - its not really a game that you would buy the sytem for Ok, there has to be other games, I had a thread and found there were some I would add to this list, but I forget, and I am too tired to find it.
Yes, you may get SNES. It had great library- RPG, adventures, fighting, and puzzle.
Be warned though. All these good SNES games are rather expensive.
I know Earthbound is on ebay (USED Cartridge only) for like $90But the game is amazing.
I don't understand what you have against Nintendo games on the SNES. These are some of the best games on the system, and of all time.
i wouldn't bother.... just *ahem* ya know.
i wouldn't bother.... just *ahem* ya know.
What? have you even played it? how could you say that
segagenesisfan is wrong on the multiplats. There were some multiplats better on Sega such as Mortal Komat 1, but 2 and 3 were definitely better on SNES. That one guys list of games is cool, I would also recommend Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, X caliber 2097. Super Street Fighter 2. Another aspect in whch segagenesisfan is wrong is that fighters areall button mashers. Anyone who plays a fighter like that is an idiot. Pocky and Rocky 1 and 2 are good. Star Wars Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Super R type, Mario All Stars,
Yea a SNES i worth getting, i havegot both megadrive and SNES and i prefer the SNES. There are some games on the SNES that are amazing like Donkey Kong Country, Mario games and my favorite game of all time Super Metroid. But i mean if you want one get one it ill not be a waste of money.
segagenesisfan is wrong on the multiplats.
His previous posts have shown that he is like his name implies seriously biased and I would not give his opinon too much thought whne it comes to nintendo.
And yes the SNES is woth owning, same as the genesis, there is a reason That era was/is considered one if not the best in gaming.
should you get a SNES?hell yeah! there are so many good games on the SNES such as super mario world 1%262, super metriod, donkey kong, super mario all-stars and r-type 3.
Just ask yourself this simple question:
Do i want to own one of the best video game consoles ever, with a even better library of games?
If the answers yes, get on :P
