Weird PS2 problem?

I just got a new game today, well not really new but RUNE Viking Warlord for $5 . The first time I played it it worked fine, but the second time I went to play it my ps2 would start up for about 3 seconds and then shut down. I tried this over and over and every time it would shut down. The weird thing about it is that if I take out the game start up the ps2, let it boot up then put the game in it works fine.This is the only game I have played in this ps2 (newer slim) that has the blue bottom. I think that means it's a cd not a dvd, right? I don't have anymore blue bottom games to test it on though. All my other games work fine, I wonder if the slim model has problems playing older blue bottom games.By the way I really like this game I don't care what the reviews say!!! I loved it then and I love it now, I just hope I can keep on playing it:DWeird PS2 problem?

Yes a Blue bottom disc is a cd
A new silver slim PS2, as far as I know, shouldn't have any trouble playing older games.
